The MANJARA CHARITABLE TRUST, established in 1988, has been committed to the cause of education under the leadership of the great visionary and philanthropist, Shri. Vilasrao Deshmukh, former Honourable Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Government of India and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh’s inspiring spirit and persistent efforts have helped the Trust to grow from strength to strength. The prime objective of the Trust is to uplift and empower the younger generation, in both rural and urban areas, by making available quality school and college education in both technical and non- technical fields. Special focus is placed on women’s empowerment in rural areas and several all women institutions have been founded. Over the past twenty odd years, the Trust has further spread its wings and set up educational institutions ranging from K.G. to Graduate and Post Graduate programmes in various faculties including Arts, Commerce, Science, Technical Education and Management Studies.
The Goldcrest chain of schools, launched in 2008, is the latest initiative of Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh’s to further his contribution to academic excellence. The first step in this initiative was the founding of an I.C.S.E school in Navi Mumbai in 2009 – Goldcrest High, Vashi followed by Goldcrest High, Latur in 2010 and now in 2012, Goldcrest International - an international school in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) - which continues the legacy of the Trust of moving forward “on wings of excellence’ and establishing an environment “where excellence is a habit”.

THE GOLDCREST INTERNATIONAL STORY
Goldcrest International is a Grade 6-12 comprehensive school authorized by both Cambridge International and the International Baccalaureate.
In 2013, we opened our doors with the IBDP (G11 & G12), followed in 2015 by the IGCSE (G9 & G10), and in 2016 with the Cambridge Middle School Programme (G6, G7 & G8).
Our school programme focuses on the development of the whole child: physical, emotional and intellectual. It is designed to enhance cognitive skills and prepare students to face the rigors of the IGCSE, IBDP, University, and beyond, engaging them as life-long learners. The schools environment fosters individual growth, reflection, and self-awareness.

I extend a very warm welcome to you. We started our journey in pursuit of excellence in education in 2009. It has been a wonderful experience that is cherished by all associated with Manjara Charitable Trust.
Shaping young minds is a great responsibility. Goldcrest International was founded with the vision of creating an institution which provides an education that strengthens the roots of the students while instilling in them an understanding and appreciation of cultures across the world. Our focus is to develop the students into becoming responsible global citizens, while retaining the Indian ethos.
Taking inspiration from Rabindranath Tagore’s philosophy of education, we have created an atmosphere in our schools where attention to the non-academic aspects of a student’s development is given as much importance as the academic subjects. We aim at an educational system that seeks the overall development of the personality.
We believe that education does not just transform the lives and futures of individual children, it transforms entire nations. To further our efforts in this endeavour we have introduced the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
The five essential elements of the IBDP - concepts, knowledge, skills, attitudes, action - are incorporated into our curriculum framework. This, along with our innovative teaching methodologies, encourages students to explore ideas and issues that have local and global significance; thus enabling them to develop a value system that encourages setting goals to realize their own unique potential.
While the students are preparing for the competitive global arena, they are also taught the role and importance of community. Few countries in the world have such an ancient and diverse culture as India’s. Its physical, religious and racial variety is as immense as its linguistic diversity. It is the appreciation and understanding of this heritage that will prepare our students to accept and adapt to international cultures and give them a competitive edge in the global arena.
